These committees meet at varying times throughout the year to plan large-scale events and programs for the Muir community. These committees are made up of Muir community members and are operated largely outside of MCC.
Welcome Week Committee
- Plans and organizes the events that take place during Welcome Week, including UnOlympics
- Includes two subcommittees: Programming and UnOlympics
- Typically involves some light work during the summer and members arrive early to host events and teach the UnOlympics dance to Muir!

Triton Day Committee
- Organizes and plans some of the Muir aspects of Triton Day
- Meetings include scenario-based training on how to handle guests as well as general UC San Diego information trainings
- Members serve as “Lead Rangers” on Triton Day and help coordinate the other volunteers and assist visitors
- Meetings: Winter Quarter – Spring

Celebrating John Muir College Week / Muirstock Committee
- Plans the events for the week to recognize and celebrate the Muir College spirit
- Plans and executes the Muirstock music festival event in Spring Quarter
- Meetings include working on advertising and promotional materials, figuring out headliners, planning events, and more!
- Meetings: Mid-Fall – Spring Quarter
