- Improving the Community – Muir College is not perfect. UC San Diego is not perfect. Being in MCC means you are a part of a group of changemakers who want to have a positive impact on their community!
What is expected of MCC Members?
- Every position has its own responsibilities and roles in the Muir community that are outlined in the specific position descriptions below.
- All members attend our weekly Muir College Council meetings on Thursdays starting at 6pm on Zoom. At meetings, we give reports and share information on things going on around campus, provide input and perspective on issues impacting students, plan events and programs for Muir, and so much more!
- Most members attend one of MCC’s subcommittee meetings every week. These meetings include our finance, rules, and programming committees.
- MCC Members are expected to help with projects and initiatives with the goal of improving the Muir student experience and advocate on behalf of Muir students!

Interview Information:
- Interviews will be kept to a 30 minute maximum.
- If you are selected to interview for more than one position, you will only need to interview once.
- Interviews will be held fully remotely via Zoom.
- Interview time slots will be offered extending throughout the whole day. There will be many slots available regardless of what time zone you are in.
- Interviews will consist of several questions including ones about past experiences, future ideas, and more.
- This is an interview – so dress in a comfortable but also professional way!
- You will receive the Zoom link when you register for interview slots.
Application Timeline:
- September 29: Applications open.
- October 10: Applications close.
- October 12: Applicants will be notified if they have been selected to interview. If they have, they will also be given a link to sign up for an interview time slot.
- October 13 – 17: Interviews will occur online throughout these days.
- October 19 – 20: Interviewed candidates will hear back on the decisions.
- October 21: Confirmed candidates will attend their first MCC meeting at 6pm to be sworn in.
- October 30: MCC Retreat (required for all members) from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
